Philanthropic Foodies was founded for one simple goal – to eat, drink and give back to the Central New York community. “Foodies” combines a showcase of talented local chefs, products from local purveyors plus a silent and live auction. This year the event benefited Friends of Dorothy House and GiGi’s Playhouse, and the Rosamond Gifford Zoo was thrilled to host it for the very first time on July 30, 2017.
The event is a unique opportunity to sample delicious creations from Syracuse’s most talented culinary wizards.
The raw bar from The York was a popular spot.
Our animal keeper Hannah brought Eagon, our Eurasian Eagle Owl out for a visit. Isn’t he handsome?
We had food and beverage stations set up around the banquet room, on the mezzanine and outside on the patio. It ended up being a great day for a party.
The event also featured a silent auction with tons of amazing prizes.
Entertainment was provided by the Professional Victims, aka Ashley Cox and Shawn Sullivan.
The highlight of the evening was the lively live auction, where guests could bid on fabulous catering packages and other prizes.
The event raised nearly $50,000 for Friends of Dorothy House and GiGi’s Playhouse.
We were truly honored to be involved in such an amazing event!
Special thanks to photographer John Carnessali for sharing the magnificent photos of the evening.
